    • Can purchases be made online or directly from the company?
      1. Unfortunately no. The service is reserved exclusively for businesses operating in our sector, and while our company’s policy does not provide for direct sales to individuals, the products can be purchased from any one of the numerous sales points throughout the country.
    • Where can I find your products?
      1. Our potting soils can be found in the major garden centres, farm shops and consortia, as well as various other shops that offer gardening products.     • Does your product range include organic products?
      1. Certainly, Vigorplant has been aware of the increasing consumer demand for organic products for years. Thanks to the exceptionally high quality offered by Vigorplant’s range of organic products, which are registered with the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forestry, they currently hold a leading role on the market.     • Do you have an information service available for consumers?

    • What is the difference between potting soil and common soil?
      1. Potting soil is a mixture of peat and other plant and/or mineral raw materials, and often contains organic or mineral fertilizers. It does not contain common garden soil.
    • 1. Why is it recommended to use Vigorplant potting soil instead of "common soil"?
      1. Compared to "common soil", our potting soils are structured in such a way so as to provide plants with more oxygen, as well as to better manage the distribution of water within the pot by preventing stagnation. Thanks to the correct dosages of fertilizers, they guarantee proper nutrition for the roots, and are free of any weeds and organisms that can transmit diseases to the plants themselves. Common soil does not possess the characteristics necessary for cultivating plants in flowerpots.
    • Can all types of plants be cultivated using a "universal" potting soil?
      1. es, all except for acidophilic plants like azaleas and rhododendrons.
    • What’s the difference between using a specific potting soil for a particular plant species and using a so-called "universal" soil for the same plant species?
      1. Specific potting soils (for example: for geraniums, acidophilic plants, etc.) represent the best solutions for the specific plant types, while a universal soil constitutes a good compromise for all types of plants, with the exception of acidophilic varieties.
    • 1. What is the potting soil’s shelf life? Can I reuse the soil from a previously potted plant?
      1. The soil has no expiry date, but it loses some of its nutritional elements after a year and must therefore be immediately reintegrated when repotting. It is recommended to avoid using the potting soil from a previously potted plant as it may be exhausted and/or full of potentially pathogenic telluric microorganisms.
    • What are the proper pH and salinity values that the potting soil must have?
      1. The correct pH value ranges from 5.5 to 6.8 for universal and specific potting soils. Levels below 5.5 are suitable for acidophilic plants. The salinity should initially be moderate: less than 1.5 grams per Litre or, expressed in mS/cm (1:1.5) = 2.0 max. / 1.5 ideal.
    • Does the potting soil need to be fertilized? If so how often?
      1. All potting soils should be fertilized, but we recommend that you read the instructions on the back of our products in order to better understand their characteristics; fertilization is usually begun 2-3 weeks after planting, repeating on a weekly basis at the doses recommended for the purchased product. A slow-release granular fertilizer can also be added immediately upon planting, if not already contained within the potting soil.
    • Do you have specific products for the garden?
      1. Vigorplant has a wide range of garden products that can be found in the following product lines:

        - The entirely organic Il Mio Raccolto (My Harvest) line, which is comprised of 3 specific substrates for cultivating Lettuce and leafy vegetables, Tomatoes, Eggplants and Peppers, Strawberries, Raspberries and Wild Berries, whether in pots or directly in the bag;

      - The Soluzioni di qualità (Quality Solutions) line, which includes a potting soil for organic horticulture (s.q.n°5), a ultra-nourishing potting soil for vegetables (s.q.n°10) and a potting soil for aromatic plants (s.q.n°11).

    • Do the potting soils have an expiry date?
      1. Although the potting soils do not have a legal shelf life, they should be sold within 1 year in order to ensure that their physical and chemical properties remain intact. This is due to the fact that, in about 1 year’s time, the fertilizer contained within the soil can be broken down by any microorganisms that may be present, and the peat also undergoes a slow mineralization process.
    • How do you measure the volume of the potting soil?
      1. We use the official EN 12580 methodology, which can be consulted in the producer-volumetric control section of our website.
    • What kinds of advertising media do you provide?
      1.   • Where does your peat come from?
    1. From Ireland, Latvia and Germany.
  • Is your white peat furnished milled or in blocks?
    1. All of the peat products originate from block processing.
  • What ensures the stability of the structure?
    1. Both the Irish peat and the peat in pieces.
  • Are your substrates fertilized?
    1. Yes, but only with a so-called starter fertilizer.
  • Is it possible to request personalized substrates?
    1. Of course, although it is necessary to determine the customer’s actual requirements beforehand.
  • Do you also make use of fungal and bacterial antagonists?
    1. Yes, particularly trichoderma and bacillis subtilis.
  • Do you also produce substrates that are permitted for organic farming?
    1. Of course! We have been operating on the organic market for over 5 years.
  • How do you measure the volume of your substrates?
    1. We use the official EN 12580 method.
  • Do you also produce substrates for rooftop gardens?
    1. Yes. One for intensive and one for extensive seedings. Our 15 year long experience in the production of these soil substrates and our clients' numerous projects attest to the reliability of these soils.
